Ed Teixeira
Ed Teixeira joined Vehicle Tracking Solutions as Chief Operations Officer in January of 2008. Prior to that time he was the owner of franchise consulting firm FranchiseKnowHow, LLC. Throughout his career Ed has served as a corporate executive for firms in the retail, manufacturing, and healthcare industries.
In each of the companies Ed has worked for, franchising and/or licensing were used as the major distribution vehicles for products and services. Over the course of his career Ed has been involved with over 1,000 franchise locations and has transacted international licensing in Europe, Asia, and South America.
Specifically, Ed has served as Chief Operating Officer for ATC Healthcare, a publicly-held medical staffing company. He was responsible for the day-to-day operations of ATC which included back office operations, IT, franchise sales, HR, legal and overall system compliance.
Prior to that he held the position of Senior Vice President of Franchising at Staff Builders Home Health Care, a publicly held company. He implemented and administered the Staff Builders Home Health Care franchise program, which became one of the largest for-profit home health care networks in the United States. During his tenure with Staff Builders Ed was directly responsible for executing international licensing agreements in Japan (the first home healthcare license in Japan granted from a foreign based company), Spain, Indonesia and Brazil. Ed was also franchisee of a six-location, multi-million dollar franchise operation.
Ed also served as Senior Vice President of Franchising for Four Seasons Marketing Corp., the largest manufacturer of glass room additions in the United States. He was instrumental in designing and implementing the Four Season Franchise program that resulted in a network of over 200 locations worldwide. Ed also implemented licensing programs in six European countries and Canada during his tenure at Four Seasons.
Earlier in his career, Ed served as Vice President of Franchise Operations for Louisville, Kentucky based Convenient Food Marts. He was responsible for the overall operations of 400 C-Stores located in 11 states in the eastern United States. His management duties encompassed nine regional offices that were each responsible for servicing and administering their respective franchise locations.
Ed is the author of the book, Franchising from the Inside Out. His articles and interviews have appeared in numerous publications and media. Ed has spoken before various groups including the International Franchise Association; the International Franchise Expo; and the Chinese Franchise Association in Shanghai, China. He has participated in the CEO Magazine Roundtable Meetings with business leaders from around the country.
